The Tara River flows through the deepest canyon in Europe and represents the largest reservoir of drinking water on the continent. Thanks to its crystal-clear blue waters, it is often called the “Tear of Europe.” The river lies on the border between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro and is protected as part of the UNESCO World Cultural and Natural Heritage.
White rapids, turquoise water, untouched wilderness, and green rafting camps along the riverbanks create a truly magical place—perfect for relaxation and adventure alike. Our cottages, where we stay during the trip, are hidden deep inside the canyon, surrounded by pure nature.
The Tara offers an unforgettable rafting experience through the very heart of the canyon—the highlight of the journey. Long and powerful rapids, stunning waterfalls, massive rocks, and secluded riverside cottages make this adventure unique. For many kilometers, the Tara forms a natural border: Montenegro on the left bank and Bosnia and Herzegovina on the right.
Our rafting center, Rafting Tara, lies deep in the heart of the canyon—a truly wild and magical place. Getting there is part of the adventure, as we cross the river with all our luggage.
